The Clous de Paris pattern is a classic guilloché engraving technique, characterized by a pyramid-like motif formed by intersecting hollow straight lines. When viewed from above, it resembles a matrix of tiny studs—hence the name. Inspired by medieval European architecture, the pattern is often seen in historical Parisian buildings. Although not originally from Paris, this design evokes a romantic elegance and reflects the wearer's refined, classical aesthetic.
Today’s featured timepiece is a rare ultra-thin vintage Audemars Piguet watch, with a 34mm case diameter—a quintessential size for vintage men’s dress watches. The dial was produced by Stern, one of the most prestigious dial makers in horology. It is remarkably thin, almost like a cicada’s wing, and the execution of such intricate Clous de Paris guilloché on such a delicate surface showcases exceptional craftsmanship.
The dial, hands, and case are all original and preserved in excellent condition. The 18K white gold bracelet features a fine brushed texture and extends to 19cm; our workshop offers bracelet resizing services upon request.
Powered by the ultra-thin manual-wind Caliber 21C movement, the watch has just undergone a complete service by our workshop. It keeps accurate time and comes with a one-year timekeeping warranty.
