The Genève line had a relatively short life within the Omega catalog, produced mainly from the 1960s to the late 1970s. In 1979, the Canton of Geneva passed a regulation stipulating that only watches manufactured in Geneva could bear the name “GENEVE” on their dials. For Omega, relocating its entire production line to Geneva was not cost-effective, and the brand eventually discontinued the series.
This particular piece, crafted in 18K yellow gold, remains in excellent condition. The ivory white dial reveals fine spiral guilloché patterns under close inspection, while inside beats the hand-wound Caliber 600, famed for its iconic copper-toned “red movement.” The watch feels light on the wrist and runs beautifully, having recently undergone a full service in our atelier and now offered with a one-year warranty. Despite more than 60 years of history, its brilliance remains undimmed.
