Rolex watches are renowned worldwide for their self-winding automatic movements, but hand-wound movements have also enjoyed great popularity. Among them, the most coveted by collectors is today's piece, the Rolex Ref. 6426, the thinnest wristwatch among all Rolex Oyster vintage timepieces, with a thickness of only 7mm. It is referred to as the "Steel King of Hand-Wound" in the collecting world. The term "hand-wound" comes from the Japanese language, meaning manual winding.

It is powered by the renowned Rolex Caliber 1225 hand-wound movement, which performs comparably to the self-winding Caliber 1570. This Oyster hand-wound wristwatch was introduced in the early 1950s and discontinued in the mid-1980s, serving as a precursor to the Rolex Cellini series. However, there are some differences; the Cellini series only used its upgraded movements and did not feature the Oyster screw-down crown and case back.

The Rolex linen-textured dial exudes a simple yet enduring charm, with perfect and luminous hour markers complemented by luminescent hands. The Rolex logo adorns the crown and acrylic crystal, while the Oyster screw-down case back securely protects the Caliber 1225 hand-wound movement. The Caliber 1225 hand-wound movement, with its 17 jewels, remains in perfect condition, demonstrating its strength and precision even after half a century. The gear-shaped regulator and the variable inertia balance wheel, typically found in high-end movements, greatly enhance the accuracy of the Rolex Oyster wristwatch. From an aesthetic and functional standpoint, the absence of a rotor makes the Caliber 1225 hand-wound movement thinner, resulting in a lighter, slimmer, and more elegant Rolex Ref. 6426 Oyster wristwatch. This Ref. 6426 is a watch only, well-preserved with its original bracelet and plexiglass crystal showing traces of aging. It has been serviced by our workshop and comes with a one-year warranty for timekeeping from the date of purchase.
