In 1880, Ferdinand Verger took over as the representative of Vacheron Constantin in Paris after his predecessor's passing. With his exceptional appreciation ability, he facilitated the continuous growth and development of the brand. After retiring in 1920, he passed the reins to his two sons, Georges and Henri, and the company was renamed Verger Frères.
In 1925, Verger Frères and Vacheron Constantin jointly designed this "Jalousie Shutter" wristwatch, with the dial hidden behind the shutter, which can be opened by pressing the button at 6 o'clock to read the time.
In the 1990s, Vacheron Constantin revived this design and released the VC Jalousie limited edition wristwatch. It features an 18-carat rose gold and 18-carat white gold two-tone design, with dimensions of 23mm x 37mm. The large sapphire button at 6 o'clock gently pushes to one side, allowing the engraved shutter to unfold for time reading, and automatically closes when released.
The shutter is engraved with patterns, and it is equipped with blue steel leaf-shaped hands, the Maltese cross logo, and the Vacheron Constantin 1055 manual-winding movement. It comes with an original leather strap and an original buckle.
By opening the shutter, light enters, and time flows away. From now on, reading time has gained a sense of ritual.
