Many NOMOS enthusiasts are drawn to the Bauhaus design style — what may appear to be a minimalist or even austere aesthetic is, in fact, one of the most refined forms of expression. NOMOS is a brand born in 1990, following the fall of the Berlin Wall. Its founder, an IT specialist with no prior experience in watchmaking, started the company from scratch. To this day, NOMOS remains independently operated.
At a time when other brands in the same price range were still using third-party movements with basic decoration, NOMOS was already developing and producing everything in-house, and has always insisted on making only mechanical watches. The brand has a dedicated five-person team solely focused on movement development, and the aesthetic quality of their calibers is rarely seen at this price point.
The Zürich Worldtime model features a world time module independently developed and fully produced by NOMOS. Its dial design is also quite unique — arguably the most complex design NOMOS had released at the time. Functionally speaking, it would be more accurate to call this a GMT watch that also happens to have a 24-hour city ring. But it’s precisely this city ring design that gives the watch its distinctive charm.
This particular Zürich Worldtime was purchased by the current owner in 2019. After inspection and authentication by our workshop, the watch is confirmed to be in excellent condition, with only minor signs of wear. It comes complete with original warranty card and box, and is currently in good working order. The watch is available now at our workshop — feel free to come in and try it on.
