In 1985, German astronaut Reinhard Furrer wore a Sinn 140S during the Spacelab D1 mission, marking the first automatic chronograph in space. The 140/142 series later accompanied astronauts aboard the Mir space station and the Columbia Space Shuttle, proving their reliability under the most extreme conditions.
Inside beats the renowned Lemania 5100 movement, celebrated for its toughness and high legibility, making this chronograph a professional-grade timing instrument.
