When it comes to collecting vintage watches, case shapes and lugs are always a hot topic — which brings us to today’s highlight: the "Bullhorn" 48001. This model is part of Vacheron Constantin’s Historiques collection, designed as a tribute to the 1950s “Bullhorn” or “Flame Lugs” series — most notably the iconic reference 4418. At the time, this design was considered avant-garde, and combined with a classic manual-wind movement, it became a milestone in Vacheron Constantin’s watchmaking history.
The 48001 was specially released in the 1990s for the Japanese market. It features a minimalist dial and uniquely shaped bullhorn lugs that have captured the affection of many collectors. It houses the VC Cal.1133 automatic movement, visible through the transparent case back.
This particular watch was purchased in Japan in 1994, comes with its original certificate, and is in excellent overall condition with only minor signs of age. The movement has been serviced by our studio and comes with a one-year warranty. Available in stock — try it on in-store today!
