To this day, the JLC Reverso remains one of the most iconic rectangular watches. Since its debut in the 1930s, it has been a hallmark timepiece of Jaeger-LeCoultre. The original Reverso was not double-sided; it featured a metal case back designed to protect the watch face during polo matches.
When JLC began reviving the Reverso series in earnest, they fully utilized the reverse side, giving the watch dual functionality. This Reverso Duoface GMT has two uniquely designed dials:
• One side features a Guilloché salmon dial with Arabic hour markers and a small seconds subdial.
• The reverse side features a Guilloché dark gray dial that displays a second time zone, with a 24-hour indicator at the 6 o'clock position.
A particularly delightful design feature is the use of different precious metals for each dial:
• The salmon dial is paired with an 18K white gold case,
• While the dark gray dial is matched with an 18K rose gold case,
allowing the wearer to fully embody two distinct styles with a single watch.
Powered by a Jaeger-LeCoultre in-house manual-winding movement, the Duoface maintains energy for both sides. Despite its dual-sided nature, the watch is only 9.5mm thick, making it a perfect fit for wrists of all sizes.
Limited to 250 pieces, the piece shown here was purchased by its owner in Hong Kong in 2010. It is in original condition, with complete accessories and in excellent preservation. Now available in our studio—not to be missed.
