The Overseas series is a watch launched by VC in 1996, based on the classic 222 model, combining sports and formal wear. The first generation of the Overseas features a barrel-shaped case with a raised bezel design, echoing the Maltese cross. In 2004, the Overseas series underwent a comprehensive upgrade with a more modern design, especially the new Maltese cross-inspired strap becoming a favorite among many men. The watch being shared today is the formal Overseas second generation: 47040. The case size is 42mm, more robust than the previous 37mm. It features an elegantly carved silver dial with numerical index markers at 3, 6, 9, and 12, while the other hours also have raised index indicators, significantly enhancing readability. Its most irresistible feature remains its Maltese cross-shaped bracelet, timeless and iconic. Despite the recent strength in steel watch prices, the second generation Overseas offers exceptional value for money.
