The Polerouter was born in the 1950s, and its design remains unique even today. Friends who appreciate it know that this classic timepiece was designed by the master Gérald Genta when he was 23 years old, making it the first commercially available watch designed by the master. This watch was first used on the SAS Nordic Airlines' Arctic flight route from New York/Los Angeles to Europe, hence the name.
The Polerouter has used a total of 6 movements, and the one being shared today is equipped with the original cal.138SS bumper movement, with subsequent models using automatic movements. While the latter is technically superior, the first-generation bumper movement holds a special value as a collectible item. The black dial with gold lettering, featuring the iconic slanted diamond-shaped hour markers, combined with the warm matte finish, exudes a vintage and steady charm.
The watch being shared today is a single piece, recently serviced by our workshop, ensuring accurate timekeeping. Our workshop offers a 1-year movement maintenance service.
