Today we present this 1990s Audemars Piguet manual-wind "Bamboo", Ref.4644/614 in 18K white gold. True to its name, the Bamboo collection’s most iconic feature is its integrated bracelet modelled after bamboo joints. Cylindrical 18K white gold links are arranged horizontally and closely joined, delicately recreating the natural form of bamboo. Each cylindrical link articulates freely, allowing the bracelet to contour naturally to the wrist. The bracelet undergoes AP’s three-stage polishing process, lending soft, understated lustre to the white gold.
The dial boasts an elegant design. On a muted silver-grey base, repeated AP monogram motifs form floral-like patterns woven across the surface, revealing refined decorative charm. Slim, matching baton hour markers and hands rise gracefully above the intricate engraving, offering clear readability with timeless classical aesthetics.
While quartz variants of the Bamboo collection are far more common, this piece houses AP’s ultra-thin Cal.2080 manual-wind movement, merely around 2mm thick. This slender movement complements the delicate, wrist-hugging silhouette, elevating the collectability of this rare mechanical edition.
